De ‘Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index’ (WOMAC) is een door de patiënt zelf in te vullen vragenlijst bestaande uit 24 vragen. De vragenlijst meet de invloed van gon-/coxartrose op pijn, stijfheid en lichamelijk functioneren en heeft betrekking op de afgelopen 48 uur. De wijze van scoren is op een 5-puntslikertschaal of op een VAS-schaal afhankelijk van de versie.
