Cognitive phenomena known in psychiatry. Beliefs and ideas found within the psychosis are held with certainty and maintained by the subject, even in the absence of a basis in reality. May include the belief that the subject is the embodiment of some prominent religious figure, i.e. Jesus Christ.
RELIGIOUS DELUSIONS: “The subject suffers from religious delusions and believes he can cure illness and walk on water.”
