In order to remove the date hierarchy in Power BI, you can follow the steps outlined below.
1. Open your Power BI report and go to the “Data” tab.
2. Select the date column that is being used as a hierarchy.
3. Right-click on the column and select “Hierarchy” from the drop-down menu.
4. Click on “Remove Hierarchy” to remove the date hierarchy.
5. Save your changes and the date hierarchy will be removed from your report.
For example, if you have a report that is showing sales data by year, month, and day, you can remove the date hierarchy to view the data without the date breakdown. This can be useful if you want to analyze the overall sales trends without being restricted to a specific time period. By removing the date hierarchy, you can also reduce clutter in your report and make it easier to interpret the data.
Remove Date Hierarchy in Power BI (With Example)
The easiest way to remove a date hierarchy in Power BI is to click the dropdown arrow next to the date column of interest and check the box next to the name of the date column.

Example: How to Remove Date Hierarchy in Power BI
Suppose we have the following table named my_data in Power BI that contains information about total sales made by some company on various dates:
Now suppose that we would like to insert this table into a report in Power BI.
To do so, click the Report view icon on the left side of the screen:
Then click the icon named Table under the Visualizations tab on the right side of the screen:
Then drag the Date and Sales variables underneath the Columns label:
The following table will be created:
Notice that the Date column has been split into Year, Quarter, Month and Day columns.
To remove this date hierarchy, click the dropdown arrow next to Date under the Columns label, then click Date:
