CALCIUM REGULATION

n. a function of maintaining calcium levels within normal. A joint function of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, it is calcitonin (of the thyroid) which inhibits and stores calcium within bone while it is parathormone (of the parathyoid) which releases calcium to the blood.

CALCIUM REGULATION: “Since calcium ions participate in many cellular processes, they need to be monitored through calcium regulation.”
