n. an 86-item, non-verbal assessment test in which one’s performance serves an an index of personality and creativity. It evaluates the aesthetic preference of participants by scoring their like or dislike for certain black-and-white figures which number 86 in all. These drawings vary from simple and geometric to detailed and abstract. First devised in 1952 by U.S. psychologists Frank Barron (1922-2002) and George Welsh (1918-1990).
