Administration Method and Scoring

The Youth Ostracism Scale, compiled by Gilman and others, includes two dimensions: 忽视 (Neglect) and 拒绝 (Rejection). Zhang Denghao and others have revised it, and the internal consistency coefficients for the Chinese version of the OES-A are 0.87, 0.82, and 0.76. Data from a retest of 376 subjects six months later indicated that the retest reliability for the two dimensions and the entire scale are 0.55, 0.59, and 0.65, respectively.

Reliability and Validity

Correlation analysis indicates that social exclusion and its two sub-dimensions are significantly positively correlated with depression and significantly negatively correlated with happiness.
