Description
Since the publication of Goleman’s book “Emotional Intelligence” in 1995, the concept of emotional intelligence has received close attention. Goleman believes that emotional intelligence is the key distinguishing factor between individuals with outstanding performance and average individuals, and its influence is greater than that of combined technical skills and cognitive ability. This scale considers emotional intelligence as encompassing an individual’s abilities in four specific areas: (1) self-emotion assessment and expression ability, which involves understanding deeper emotional expressions and expressing them naturally; (2) the ability to recognize and assess others’ emotions, enabling an individual to be sensitive to others’ feelings; (3) self-emotion management ability, which refers to an individual’s ability to manage their own emotions and quickly recover from psychological distress; and (4) emotional utilization ability, which refers to the individual’s ability to adjust their emotions in a direction conducive to constructive behavior and individual performance.
