Administration Method and Scoring

A total of 3221 university students from five universities participated in the assessment, with a total of 3158 questionnaires collected. After excluding invalid and irrelevant questionnaires, 3056 valid responses were analyzed. The PGI consists of 40 items, where participants rate their liking and perceived competence for each activity on a 7-point Likert scale.

Reliability and Validity

Tracey (2002) demonstrated that the PGI scale exhibits good reliability and validity. Subsequent applications of PGI across different countries have supported its theoretical structure.

The study identifies a three-dimensional model of occupational interests, featuring the following dimensions:
