Description
The scale was designed in 1985 by the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Due to its ease of use and accurate self-testing results, it has been widely applied in clinical practice and has become an internationally recognized standard scale for assessing insomnia. The scale consists of eight items that evaluate different aspects of sleep quality.

Test Year
1985
Administration Method and Scoring
The scale employs a four-point scoring system for each item, where each factor is rated from 0 to 3. A higher total score indicates poorer sleep quality.
Reliability and Validity
The AIS scale is recognized internationally as a reliable measure for self-assessing sleep quality and is suitable for public sleep quality status surveys.
Factors and Subscales
The scale includes the following eight key dimensions:
3. 早醒 (sleep earlier than usual, SAa)
