Description
The Cognitions About Body and Health Questionnaire (the Chinese Version of the Cognitions About Body and Health Questionnaire, CABAH) is designed to evaluate specific cognitions related to health anxiety symptoms. Participants are asked to select the option that most closely reflects their thoughts and feelings over the past six months, with no right or wrong answers.

To measure individual levels of catastrophizing interpretations regarding both specific and general bodily complaints.

The questionnaire was revised in 2021.
Administration Method and Scoring
The CABAH consists of a four-point scoring system, where 1 represents “strongly disagree” and 4 represents “strongly agree.” The questionnaire includes a total of six subscales.
Reliability and Validity
The Chinese version of the CABAH has shown good reliability and validity, with an overall Cronbach’s α of 0.885. The reliability coefficients for the two subscales of interest are 0.774 and 0.643 respectively (Liao & Huang, 2021).

2. 健康习惯 (Health Habits)
3. 特定身体疾病的灾难化解释 (Catastrophizing Interpretation of Specific Bodily Complaints)
4. 躯体感觉放大 (Amplification of Bodily Sensations)
5. 一般身体疾病的灾难化解释 (Catastrophizing Interpretation of General Bodily Complaints)
6. 反向 (Reverse)
