BRUGSCH’S INDEX

n. in anthropology and anthropometrics, refers to the index used in measuring chest circumference. The formula involves multiplying chest circumference by 100 and then dividing the product by the height of an individual. First devised by German physician Theodor Brugsch (1827-1894).
