BRANDEIS BRIEF

n. a legal brief which made history in 1908 (Muller v. Oregon case) by being the first to compile scientific and social facts in addition to legal citations. This case documented the damaging effect of long working hours on women. Credit goes to U.S. litigator Louis Brandeis (1856-1941).
