BODY DYSMORPHIA

n. the preoccupation with one’s perceived defects and flaws to the point of being obsessive and irrational. Improving body concept and image becomes an obsession such that imperfections become a source of distress. See body dysmorphic disorder- also muscle dysmorphia.

BODY DYSMORPHIA: “A person with body dysmorphia is quick to criticize his or her own perceived flaws even though there exists little to no evidence of such imperfections.”
