BODY MASS INDEX (BMI)

n. a measure used to calculate an individual’s fitness or obesity based on set parameters. These parameters include weight, height, and body fat. Thus, BMI is computed as body weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. The result obtained can be compared with values set for a specific age group and body type.
