BASES OF AN ATTITUDE

n. typical sources from which information is derived and an attitude is based. Research reveals that there are three bases in general: The cognitive basis relating to thoughts and beliefs, the affective basis relating to feelings, emotions, and moods, and the behavioral basis relating to responses past, present, and future. All three are components of an attitude and are associated with an attitude object. See tripartite theory of attitudes.

BASES OF AN ATTITUDE: “The cognitive, affective, and behavioral bases of an attitude all contribute to how personality is formed.”
