Met behulp van de Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scales (MHLC) kunnen persoonlijke factoren, betreffende de gezondheidstoestand, geïnventariseerd worden. De MHLC bestaat uit 18 vragen, die onderverdeeld zijn in drie beheersingsoriëntatieschalen: 1. interne oriëntatie; 2. arts-oriëntatie; 3. kans-oriëntatie.
