De MSPP meet de daadwerkelijke sociale participatie van ouderen met een chronische lichamelijke aandoening, gebaseerd op de definitie van sociale participatie door de doelgroep zelf. De vragenlijst bestaat uit drie onderdelen: 1. Dingen ondernemen; 2. Contact met bekenden; 3. Contact met familie. Er kunnen zowel frequentie- als diversiteitsscores berekend worden.
