| Description | The Doctor Patient Transference Grid (Crisp, 1964) assesses transference attitudes toward doctors. It is based on the repertory grid technique developed by Kelly and later modified by Bannister. In the test, the individual considers 20 people they know or have known well, dividing them into two groups: 10 obligatory figures and 10 self-chosen figures. For each construct, such as “ideal dependable parent” or “like Dr. So-and-so,” the individual selects the 10 people most fitting that construct, and these are recorded in a grid. A validation study has shown that predictions made using this test were largely fulfilled at a statistically significant or trend level. |
