Patient and Therapist Assessment of Psychotherapy Questionnaire

Patient and Therapist Assessment of Psychotherapy Questionnaire

CategoryDetails
DescriptionThe Patient and Therapist Assessment of Psychotherapy Questionnaire (Feifel & Eells, 1963) is an open-ended instrument developed to evaluate attitudes toward therapy from both patients and their therapists. The questionnaire focuses on veterans who had completed a course of individual psychotherapy. Patients answered four open-ended questions about their attitudes toward therapy, while therapists responded to similar questions and predicted how their patients would answer. A follow-up survey conducted four years later assessed how participants felt about their past therapy. Interrater reliability was tested, with 79% agreement between two investigators assigning identical category numbers, representing acceptable reliability.

2. What about the therapy itself did you find helpful?
3. What about the therapy itself did you find not helpful, or even set you back?
4. Have you any suggestions for ways in which your therapy might have been made more helpful?
