Purpose
The purpose of this study is to assess the levels of modern gender bias among college students through a structured questionnaire.
Test Year
2016
Administration Method and Scoring
The questionnaire employs a Likert scale with a 5-point scoring method. Respondents are asked to answer based on their true thoughts, with scores ranging from 1 to 5 indicating the following agreement levels:
1 – 完全不同意 (Strongly Disagree),
2 – 比较不同意 (Disagree),
3 – 介于不同意和同意之间 (Neutral),
4 – 比较同意 (Agree),
5 – 非常同意 (Strongly Agree).
Reliability and Validity
The reliability analysis utilized the Cronbach’s Alpha (α) coefficient to assess the internal consistency of the questionnaire, revealing that the internal consistency coefficients for various sub-questionnaires and the overall questionnaire ranged from 0.714 to 0.820, with the overall questionnaire scoring 0.859. The test-retest reliability scores ranged from 0.631 to 0.744, with the overall test-retest reliability at 0.785, indicating favorable reliability. For structural validity, confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation modeling assessed relationships and loadings between latent and observed variables, with good fit indices obtained (χ²/df=2.432, NFI=0.784, IFI=0.823, CFI=0.803, RMSEA=0.062). These fit indices imply a high structural validity. For criterion-related validity, correlations were examined with existing scales on modern gender bias and gender role equality, showing significant positive correlations.
