Description

OQ-45.2 is a widely used standardized counseling effect assessment tool in today’s international psychological counseling field (rather than a diagnostic tool). It has been translated into multiple languages, including Japanese, Korean, Italian, and French, and is applied in clinical research across more than ten countries, all of which have validated its reliability and validity. Research by Li Yujing in China has found that the Chinese version of OQ-45.2 possesses good reliability and validity and can be employed in psychological counseling institutions across various fields.

Purpose

The purpose of the OQ-45.2 instrument is to assess the effectiveness of psychological counseling through monitoring clients’ distress symptoms, interpersonal relationships, and social role performance.

Administration Method and Scoring

Respondents are asked to carefully read a series of statements and select the option that best represents their situation, where 0 denotes “never,” 1 denotes “rarely,” 2 denotes “sometimes,” 3 denotes “often,” and 4 denotes “always.”

The Chinese version of OQ-45.2 has shown good reliability and validity, making it applicable in various psychological counseling settings.

Factors and Subscales

The scale includes three subscales monitoring different life aspects:
1. 困扰症状 (Symptom Distress, SD): Assesses subjective levels of depression and anxiety, including items related to substance abuse.
2. 人际关系 (Interpersonal Relations, IR): Includes items assessing satisfaction and positivity in interpersonal relationships, as well as negative functional impairments in these relationships.
3. 社会角色绩效 (Social Role, SR): Evaluates dissatisfaction, conflict, distress, and deficiencies related to roles in work, family, and leisure. This dimension is based on the theoretical assumption that assessment of social role performance can reflect internal psychological issues.
