“`html

Description

PUA (Pick-Up Artist) initially entered China as a subculture of dating techniques circulating online, providing learning materials for those in need. However, its concept and connotation have significantly changed; PUA has now become synonymous with “psychological control” and “emotional abuse,” and is recognized by the majority.

Authors and Contact Email

Liu Binzhi and He Binbin (2020) categorize PUA into “良性” (benign) and “不良” (harmful), while Zheng Han (2020) views PUA as a new manifestation of intimate partner violence, and Li Tiezhen (2020) considers it a form of coercive control within intimate relationships. Meng Liyan (2020) elaborates on how male PUAs attract women through constructed personas.
