Purpose

To revise the Chinese version of the Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS), specifically focusing on the attitudes towards celebrities and the phenomenon of idol worship.

Administration Method and Scoring

The Chinese version of the Celebrity Attitude Scale comprises a 5-point scoring scale with 5 dimensions. Participants are asked to indicate their agreement with each statement on a scale from 1 to 5, where 1 means “not at all true,” 2 means “basically not true,” 3 means “undecided,” 4 means “basically true,” and 5 means “completely true.”

Reliability and Validity

The CAS Chinese version generally exhibits good reliability, with all but two subscales having a Cronbach Alpha coefficient greater than 0.70, while the two remaining subscales are below 0.65.
