Abstract
The Dance for Wellbeing Interview Guide (Carroll, Dale, & Bail, 2023) was developed to explore if and how Parkinson’s disease dance class participation and public performance contributes to perceptions of wellbeing. This instrument was designed for a study conducted with an Australian sample of participants from two metropolitan Dance for Wellbeing class locations. The current construct was measured in this sample using eight interview items created by the authors. No reliability or validity results were reported for these items.

Performance status: Performer with Parkinson’s disease
Key points noticed:
The participant has had Parkinson’s for a long time and has been a part of the dance group for a long time
The participant does other activities to manage Parkinson’s but dance is her favourite as it is fun
Tentative ideas about the analysis
Performance has provided a lot of opportunities for the participant
The performance makes you feel good by getting affirmation from the audience
Dance makes the participant happy
The music is important
Performance shows that people who have challenges can be happy and do things

Difficulties:
Participants husband came in part way through and I needed to pause the interview. I did not restart the interview recording correctly and ended up having the interview in two parts
Personal emotional experiences of the researcher
It was wonderful to talk to the participant and hear about her story.
