Quality or state of being stiff or inflexible, especially with regard to muscles. An aspect of an individual’s personality which makes them resistant to change. Following brain trauma, the disposition toward inflexibility in problem-solving, even though a better alternative for completing a task exists. See also: decerebrate rigidity.
