BEHAVIORAL ECOLOGY

n. a specific study of human and animal behavior which assesses the impact of both evolution and the environment. It studies the interaction between the behavior of an organism and the effect of the environment on this observed behavior. Although most organisms behave in a characteristic way especially within their natural environment, this branch focuses mainly on how they have adapted to a new environment.

BEHAVIORAL ECOLOGY: “Behavioral Ecology studies how and why the behavior of organisms evolve and adapt to changes in their environment.”
