Thirty-Five Personality Dimension Questionnaire

Thirty-Five Personality Dimension Questionnaire

CategoryDetails
DescriptionThe Thirty-Five Personality Dimension Questionnaire (Comrey, 1962) is a 216-item inventory designed to assess various personality dimensions. Some dimensions are refinements of those studied earlier (Comrey & Soufi, 1960, 1961), while others are newly developed. One of the dimensions is a “truth” scale (8 items) that measures the respondent’s willingness to disclose unflattering personal details. The remaining 34 dimensions, each with six items, assess specific personality traits. A validity check of four items is included to detect irrational responses. Through factor analysis, ten factors were identified, including Neuroticism, Dependence, Compulsiveness, Friendliness, and Hostility. The reliability of the scales was evaluated, with an average product-moment reliability coefficient corrected by the Spearman-Brown formula for an appropriate number of items, typically six.
