Hostility Inhibition Scale

CategoryDetails
DescriptionThe Hostility Inhibition Scale (Bandura, Lipsher, & Miller, 1960) was developed to assess how therapists’ anxieties may affect their therapeutic work. It measures the degree to which therapists inhibit expressing hostility. The scale consists of 5 items rated on a 5-point scale, such as “Very difficult to arouse to anger or irritate—practically never expresses irritation, annoyance, or anger when strongly frustrated, provoked, or thwarted.”
