Abstract
The Dog Leashing Measure (van Eeden et al., 2023) was developed to assess attitudes, normative beliefs, and behavioral beliefs pertaining to leashing and leashing restrictions in natural areas. This instrument was designed for a study conducted with a sample of adult participants comprised of dog owners and those without dogs in Victoria (Australia). The current constructs were measured in this sample using a total of 15 items created by the authors. Reliability results were reported for these items.

Purpose
The purpose of this questionnaire is to measure dog owners’ behaviors, beliefs pertaining to leashing dogs in natural areas, and attitudes toward restrictions on dogs’ access to natural areas.
Validity
No data is Available.
Reliability
Internal Consistency: Cronbach’s alphas for the factors ranged from .705 to .822. The authors noted that the factors were developed by identifying correlations between statements, and then by combining positively correlated statements to create new factors by averaging scores across the combined statements. These factors were created from all of the attitude and belief statements except for two items which were not aligned with any new factor that could be identified. However, these items were not removed from the final measure.
Factor Analysis
No data is Available.
