Adverse Childhood Experience Scale Among Inuit Youth in Greenland

Adverse Childhood Experience Scale Among Inuit Youth in Greenland

CategoryDetails
DescriptionThe Adverse Childhood Experience Scale Among Inuit Youth in Greenland (Ottendahl et al., 2024) was designed to measure ACEs in Inuit youth in Greenland, addressing the absence of a comprehensive ACE-scale for this population. Developed using data from the ‘Wellbeing among Inuit youth in Greenland’ survey, it initially utilized an 11-item ACE-scale (BRFSS, 2016). Four items—bullying, parental death, gambling problems, and suicide in close relations—were added for contextual relevance. The final scale, reduced to 10 items using Item Response Theory (IRT), demonstrated strong internal consistency.
