Description
The SAQ (Self-Acceptance Questionnaire) can be widely applied to assess self-esteem and inferiority complexes in normal individuals, as well as the self-acceptance psychological characteristics of patients with neuroses. It also serves as an important reference index for evaluating the efficacy of psychological treatments for inferiority complexes and neuroses. One of the personality traits of patients with neuroses is the distortion and rejection of the ideal self concerning the actual self, leading to a lack of acceptance of the actual self. The goal of psychological treatment is largely to encourage patients to adopt an accepting attitude toward their actual self and gradually develop and perfect it, ultimately achieving the reconstruction and enhancement of their personality. Moreover, self-acceptance can be viewed as a component of self-esteem.
