Description
Li Zhuang conducted extensive literature searches and did not find any research on the relationship between romantic relationships and psychological maturity. Maturity reflects an individual’s stage of psychological development and level of growth, while love involves multiple psychological processes such as emotions, cognition, and motivation. These psychological processes should also be included within the scope of psychological maturity. Therefore, he hypothesized that the psychology of romantic love must also have a developmental level from immaturity to maturity. He combined psychological maturity with romantic psychology to propose the concept of romantic psychological maturity. Romantic psychological maturity refers to the individual’s ability to maintain a stable and positive relationship during the romantic process, reflecting psychological maturity within the context of love. A stable and positive romance should meet two criteria: (1) the individual’s thoughts and behaviors during the romantic process should conform to moral standards; (2) the individual should achieve positive experiences during the romantic process.

(1 represents “strongly disagree,” 2 represents “disagree,” 3 represents “somewhat disagree,” 4 represents “somewhat agree,” 5 represents “agree,” and 6 represents “strongly agree.”)
