De GMFM is ontwikkeld om veranderingen in de functionele grove motoriek in de tijd te meten bij kinderen met een cerebrale parese. De GMFM-88 heeft 5 dimensies. A= liggen en rollen, B= zitten, C= knielen en kruipen, D= staan, E= lopen, rennen en springen. De items worden gescoord van 0-3.
