| Description | The Conceptual Style Test (CST; Kagan, Moss, & Sigel, 1963) is designed to assess analytic conceptualizations. It consists of 30 cards with three black and white drawings of familiar objects. The child is asked to pick out two pictures that are alike or go together, explaining the basis for their grouping. The test is constructed to elicit analytic and relational concepts, as well as inferential-categorical concepts. The test showed excellent split-half reliability, with a corrected coefficient of .94 from 300 protocols. |
