American psychobiologist. Earning his doctorate at Harvard University in 1902 under the instruction of Hugo Monsterberg, Yerkes stayed there as a professor till World War I. Apart from his position as an organizer and advocate of psychology, Yerkes is primarily remembered for his illuminating experiments within the field of comparative psychology at the Yale Laboratories of Primate Biology, later re-named the Yerkes Laboratories.
