VIBRATION RECEPTOR

a nerve termination which reacts to many different ranges of vibration frequencies. Vibration receptors have been recognized via histological analyses as pacinian corpuscles. They have been identified at depths spanning from the connective tissue covering the exterior of a bone to the skin’s exterior. Some vibration receptors appear to be most sensitive to vibrations ranging from 100 to 500 Hz, whereas other vibrations are most sensitive to those under 100 Hz.

VIBRATION RECEPTOR: “The vibration receptors in one’s skin are most likely to be desensitized over time than any other in or upon the body.”
