OLFACTORY RECEPTOR

a spindle-shaped receptor cell in the olfactory epithelium of the nasal cavity which is sensitive to odorants. Cilia at the root of the olfactory receptors consist of receptor sites for odorants. The receptors themselves shape the olfactory nerve together, that synapses with cells within the olfactory bulb. Commonly referred to as olfactory sense organ.

OLFACTORY RECEPTOR: “The olfactory receptors are tiny components of the olfactory bulb.”
