VENTROMEDIAL HYPOTHALAMIC SYNDROME

a group of indicators elicited by experimental lesions inside the ven tromedial nucleus of the hypothalamus inside the brain. The syndrome consists of two phases. The first phase is marked by hyperphagia and subsequent weight gain, causing obesity. The second phase is inclusive of steadying of body weight, resistance to food-getting behavior, and fickle or picky behavior.
