RUBINSTEIN-TAYBI SYNDROME (RSTS RTS)

Disease identified by small stature, medium to serious mental retardation, distinct facial characteristics, and wide thumbs and first toes. Additional features of the syndrome differ among sufferers. Individuals with this disorder possess a greater chance of getting noncancerous and cancerous growths, leukemia, and lymphoma. This disorder is hereditary in an autosomal dominant structure; it is rare, taking place in approximately 1 in 125,000 births.
