SECURE ATTACHMENT

Beneficial parent-child relationship, wherein the child exhibits assurance any time the mother or father is available, demonstrates minor stress whenever the mother or father departs, and rapidly reestablishes connection once the mother or father comes back. An adult attachment model that brings together a confident interior functioning model of attachment of oneself, distinguished by an opinion of oneself as deserving of love, and a beneficial interior functioning model of attachment of other individuals, distinguished by the perspective that other individuals are typically accepting and sensitive. Compare with: dismissive attachment; fearful attachment; preoccupied attachment.
