PSYCHOSEXUAL DEVELOPMENT

Also referred to as libidinal development, psychosexual development is the classic model of sexuality as put for by Sigmund Freud. The step-by-step development of a subject’s life (according to Freud) affects personality development in each discrete phase. The Freudian phases of sexual development are (in chronological order) the ORAL, the ANAL, the PHALLIC, the LATENCY and the GENITAL. Each stage is defined by specific erotic activities.

PSYCHOSEXUAL DEVELOPMENT: “Psychosexual development was first described in a concise way by Freud.”
