OLIVOPONTOCEREBELLAR ATROPHY

a gradually progressive neurological disease marked by degeneration of neurons in the cerebellum, pons, and olivary nucleus. Signs of such range significantly among people but generally consist of ataxia, difficulties with walking and equilibrium, dysarthria, and tremors. In several instances, onset is in mid-adulthood and death takes place within one to two decades.
