CELIAC PLEXUS

n. a radiating network of nerve fibers found in the abdomen and arising from the branches of the abdominal aorta. This plexus is the pathway for the celiac ganglia and the visceral afferent (autonomic) nerves. Also called the solar plexus- celiac nervous plexus- celiac lymphatic plexus- coeliac plexus.

CELIAC PLEXUS: “Anterior to the aorta, the celiac plexus is at level with the 12th thoracic vertebra.”
