CAUSAL CHAIN

A hypothetical or actual sequence of events which lead to a particular effect. The chain of events must be ordered as to how they occur one after another. This further establishes the fact that the events are, indeed, related to each other. See transitivity. Also causal path.

CAUSAL CHAIN: “A causal chain maps out the causal relationships in a sequence of events and, in the process, identifies the root cause.”
