BRIQUET’S SYNDROME

n. a personality disorder characterized by frequent, multiple complaints and treatment-seeking behavior despite the lack of physical symptoms to support them. These complaints often include pain, fatigue, and illness. Formerly called somatization disorder. First described by French physician Paul Briquet in 1859. See somatoform disorders.
