ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF PSYCHOL

an organization founded in 1974, whose main purpose is to promote human welfare through the advancement of the profession and science of psychology. The AAP promotes the interests of psychologists through several means: (a) representation of members before public and governmental bodies, (b) cooperation with other organizations and agencies in furthering the profession and science of psychology, and (c) the operation of an influential political committee known as Psychologists for Legislative Action Now.

ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF PSYCHOL: “The Association for the Advancement of Psychology is largely concerned with: protecting its members, the promotion of human welfare, and the advancement of psychology as a science.”
