| Description | The Posttherapy Estimate of Change in Integration (PECI; Cartwright et al., 1961) is a counselor-rated measure used to assess a client’s change in personal integration at the end of therapy. The PECI consists of two items: the first measures the client’s feelings toward him/herself, and the second assesses the client’s perceived change. Responses are given using Likert-type scales. In a study involving client-centered therapists, the PECI demonstrated strong correlations with a therapy success rating and the Difference Measure of Change in Integration (DMCI), which measures change between the first and final interview. |
