De MRC schaal, voor het manueel meten van spierkracht, wordt veelvuldig toegepast in de fysiotherapeutische praktijk. De schaal is ordinaal en meet met behulp van een zespuntsschaal (0-5), waarbij “0” overeen komt met geen contractie en “5”met normale beweging mogelijk met flinke weerstand.
