De Must is een checklist, waarmee de mate van ondervoeding vastgesteld kan worden. De MUST bestaat uit 3 vragen de gaan over BMI,voedselinname en acute ziekte. Per vraag wordt gescoord op een drie- of tweepuntsschaal. Aan de totaalscore zijn gewenste interventies gekoppeld. Het invullen kost minder dan 5 minuten per patiënt.
