| Description | The Haptic Visual Matching Test (HVM; Kagan et al., 1964) was developed to assess impulsivity-reflection using a cross-modal task. In this task, the child explores a three-dimensional wooden form haptically, without visual access, then selects the matching visual stimulus from a set of five similar images. The test measures impulsivity-reflection by comparing the child’s ability to match haptically explored forms with visual representations. The test also provides an objective measure of the scanning time, as the time taken to explore the form is recorded. The test includes 20 stimuli, 10 geometric shapes and 10 familiar objects (e.g., tree, airplane, cat). |
